SENIOR ASSOCIATE / JUNIOR PARTNER JOB POSTING

We are seeking a smart, highly-motivated, tenacious, and experienced Senior Associate / Junior Partner Attorney to assist with all phases of a diverse portfolio of civil cases. A successful Senior Associate Attorney or Junior Partner will not only understand and accept these values, but will embrace them.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Managing or being a part of a litigation team consisting of junior associates, paralegals, and supervising attorneys.
  • Handling all phases of litigation from investigation to trial and appeal, including delegating responsibilities to and accepting responsibilities from other members of the team. 
  • Drafting, reviewing, and revising briefs and other legal pleadings.
  • Conducting legal research or reviewing compiled research prepared by junior associates and/or paralegals. 
  • Analyzing complex legal issues and providing client advice.
  • Representing clients at meetings, hearings, and trials.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of litigation experience.
  • Juris doctorate from an accredited law school, graduating in top 20% of class.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee. 
  • Proven experience practicing as an Attorney within a chosen specialty.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent writing skills, with high attention to detail and desire to improve.  
  • Perceptive and meticulous, with a thorough understanding of human behavior.
  • Adaptability and capacity to perform under stress.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Desire to learn and grow.

LEGAL ASSISTANT 

Part Time

We are looking to hire an experienced Legal Assistant to join our high-energy team of lawyers and staff. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, detail oriented, and will enjoy working collaboratively on a diverse portfolio of projects. 

Ideally at least 3 days a week in the office, but we offer some scheduling flexibility. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
  • Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar, making travel arrangements, answering correspondence, and taking telephone calls.
  • Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice.
  • Serve as back-up for the office manager as needed. 
  • Assisting with client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
  • Attend meetings with attorneys as needed.

Qualifications 

  • Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably supporting litigation in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Lexis-Nexis, PACER, Westlaw and other legal research sites.

Benefits

This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
