PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

JP joins Klein Solomon Mills after serving a two-year term as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Thomas W. Brothers of the Sixth Circuit Court for Davidson County. Having also interned for the Honorable Angelita Blackshear Dalton in the Davidson County Criminal Court, JP brings extensive insight into judicial decision making and the litigation process.

In 2020 JP graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School where he was a Chancellor’s Scholar, a research assistant to Professor Ingrid Wuerth, a managing editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law, and co-founder of the Vanderbilt Space Law Society. During his time at Vanderbilt, JP worked in-house with McNair Interests, in government with the Security and Exchange Commission’s Office of International Affairs, and in private practice with a law firm in Clarksville. With his wide range of experiences, JP brings a well- rounded prospective to the practice of law.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Born in Seoul, South Korea to an Air Force family, JP’s early life was spent moving form duty station to duty station across the world. Arriving in Nashville to attend law school, JP and his family were finally able to put down roots and are thrilled to have somewhere to call home.

JP attended high school in South Korea, and Ohio, and received his bachelor’s degrees from Miami University of Ohio in 2017, with majors in Social Studies Education and Theater. An avid traveler, art enthusiast and self-proclaimed ‘foodie’ JP’s curiosity and passion for personal growth has led to the development of numerous hobbies and interests. Most importantly however, JP is happily married to Alisha Horton and shares her joy in raising their wonderful son, Trace.
